BIBAP

BIBAP is a non-verbal performance depicting one of Korea’s representative dishes, bibimbap (rice mixed with vegetables and beef). It was favorably received at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2010, and continues to attract international visitors in Korea today. The sound of making bibimbap is mimicked by beat-boxing and a cappella, while the motions are demonstrated through b-boying, acrobatics and martial arts. When combined, the dynamic music and choreography produce a perfect harmony, just as the different ingredients mix together to create a tasty bibimbap. Performers present a refreshing experience by improvising with a few select members of the audience during the show. One lucky audience member may even get to sample bibimbap!
