Sachoom is one of the most popular South Korean non-verbal dance musicals. Besides being a favorite among national audiences, the performance made its international debut at the 2008 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, gaining praise from fans and critics alike for its gravity-defying performances and storyline (with easy-to-read English subtitles). Besides its winning combination of dance styles such as hip-hop, jazz, contemporary dance, and breakdancing, the show is famous for its unconventionality. Instead of passively watching from their seats, audience members are urged to stand up and cheer loudly during the musical and move to the music. Some audience members are even picked to come up on stage and show off their dance moves, and everyone will have the chance to take photos with the cast after the final curtain call.
