Hobby In World (하비인월드)

Hobby In World is the world's first hobby museum. It is open all year round. It exhibits various works by hobbyists and provides activities through which participants can experience various hobbies.

The first floor displays incredible miniature works assembled and colored by professional hobby artists. There are various miniature cars and plastic models loved by boys and girls. Children will also like Thomas the Train moving along a miniature track with a perfect miniature of a train station. The first floor also displays graffiti and Junk Art, which will improve children’s creativity and teach them the importance of environmental conservation.

The second floor is for doll craft works including Awoo of Unicef, teddy bears, antique bisque dolls, and ball-jointed dolls. The Hanji (Korean paper) craft exhibition hall on the 2F shows dolls made of Hanji. In some parts of the hall, Korean traditional folk tales are demonstrated with the hanji craft dolls.

3F is for radio-controlled (R/C) cars. It has a large indoor RC track, some RC cars that visitors can try out, and a RC helicopter flight simulator, which is for visitors to indirectly experience operating a RC helicopter. The history of RC cars and technical basis of RC cars are explained in one corner.

The museum is a good educational source for children. They can see great works created as a result of someone’s sheer devotion with detailed explanations, and learn how to enjoy hobbies that foster emotional development and improve learning ability, concentration, and creativity.
